Top 4 Fun Bartenders in Films

Do you want to become a bartender? All of us would probably say yes if we were offered a chance to become a bartender regardless of whether we have experience or not. It’s a fun job that allows you to meet a lot of people, not to mention get tips on top of your base salary. Of course, those were just the icing on the cake. You also get to learn how to mix drinks, and run a restaurant or bar business.

But let’s try not to be serious for a while…Found below are the top 4 funny movies where bartenders have stolen the spotlight and have probably inspired you to become one. Enjoy!

1. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

Wayne the Bartender (Davon McDonald) makes an appearance in the scene where Jason Segel’s character heads to a bar. He was thankful that he did after Dwayne sends more than a cocktail his way—the bartender also offered him so words of wisdom.

2. Cocktail (1998)

Tom Cruise’s character, Bryan Flanagan, in the film Cocktail was iconic because he did a lot of “flair” bartending in it—you know, swinging and juggling cocktail shakers without a strand of hair getting out of place. In the movie, Cruise’s movie take center stage—Bryan is a bartender working in Jamaica and meets a girl. It’s that story of love.

3. Shaun of the Dead (2004)

John, played by Steve Emerson, has a short and memorable appearance in the film Shaun of the Dead. John owns and tends to his pub, the Winchester Pub in the film.

4. Kill Bill: Vol 1 (2003)

We cannot end this list without letting off a bang! Of course, last but not the least is the samurai-wielding Hattori Hanzo. We first encounter Hattori Hanzo (played by actor Sonny Chiba) when The Bride arrives in Tokyo to ween off her jet lag and grab a hot meal (and maybe some sake). Aside from being really good in whipping out some miso and chopping sushi in lightning speed, Hanzo apparently was a hardcore swordsmith and samurai trainer.

Have you seen the films we mentioned above? Were there other bartender characters in films that you find inspiring? Share your thoughts.
